Until recently, only those close to filmmaker Ken Burns knew he collected antique, hand-sewn American quilts. After forty years of keeping his hobby a secret, Burns gave permission to the International Quilt Study Center and Museum in Lincoln to host an exhibit featuring nearly thirty quilts from his collection. We talk with the filmmaker about what motivated him to publicly share his quilts and why Nebraska.
