Willa Comes Alive

Omaha sculptor Littleton Alston won the commission to create a bronze of writer Willa Cather for installation at National Statuary Hall in the United States Capitol. With the final version approved, Alston traveled to a Colorado foundry where in a single day's time the 7-foot metal sculpture came alive through the patina process.
